Here is where I keep the spark alive...

Various Mercury Capri’s have graced my possession... this is my most fav, and basically the last I had...
Since this pic was taken about 10 years ago... it was parked for some time and then moved to Camano (I drove it up). It was in need of a bit of work at the time, and Becky (our daughter), seemed to be interested. My parents acquired this car when I was in high school, and my Mom drove it for a few years before I inherited it. I worked for a few years fixing a few of the inherent Capri diseases, and it was a good car for me. It ended up with the purple cars’ drive train, engine, 4sp overdrive (RAG?) and 3.22 rear axle. Mods were: Weber Redline 44mm, T-bird headers, Allison ignition (and later Duraspark from the Bobcat), adjustable caster/camber top strut mounts, copper fuel lines, dual 2-1/4” exhaust with crossover and turbo mufflers, new paint, 215 60/14 tires, 1971 Torino inside adjustable mirrors, new interior (carpet, front seats, door and side panels)

Alas, that was all years ago, and when we were moving from Camano I sold it to a fellow for a couple hundred bucks, I wanted to cry...

Here is a Capri I bought from a friend, I drove it for a while, but it had been in a wreck and didn’t drive quite right, so I decided it needed a new suspension... Look, there is the F-150...The Capri here was scrapped when we moved due to lack of space, I was crushed not to have finished it. I had a decent 302 for it too...

What is it...? Well, mostly a capri, at least most of a capri...minus the body. Capri parts include, Engine (2.8), Trans, (C-3) Gas tank, Rear axle, (3.44) Steering gear, Front struts, Wheels, (of course!)Sadly I didn’t have a steering wheel to top it off...The trans was connected via a driveline with about a 4” long tube.. Dual exhaust both exited on the driver’s side.  If you look closely, you can see the purple Capri in the background, it was to be a convertable, but was scrapped when we moved to Camano.
