F-350

There have been some serious issues with our 1988 F-350 in the past year or so. One day it would not start. I replaced the Distributor module, and it did. I hooked up the gooseneck and took off to pick up some cows, made it about 5 miles down the road and it died again. After months at the shop they replace the ECU and it seemed ok. We used it twice to go to the vet and the third trip it died again. I replaced the TPS, and it was still dead. Then I noticed a couple relays not mounted where they belong, and they were full of water - and they rattled. When I was shaking them trying to get water out, I could hear things clicking and buzzing in various places under the dash and around the engine compartment. I replaced them with new ones from the Ford Dealer. They were for the ECU and Fuel Pump, hmm. Nearby there is a large connector on the main harness, there were bare, once hot wires everywhere in it waiting to short out, so I fixed them as well with a little solder and shrink tube. Who needs the crappy connector. So far so good. 6-17-2011
