Ordering from us

Well, if you have read much about Red Wattle pork, you will see that it has some pretty high recommendations. I will soon have a steady supply of hogs to sell as feeders. If you want to get on a list, simply e-mail, comment on this, or call Mike at 361-401-0370. We can give you the particulars, and answer your questions so you can decide if our pork or pigs are right for you, thanks. – Mike

Update- For 2016 – Call for info about our CSA program. Produce, Pork, and a Turkey for the 2017 holidays! VERY limited number of shares are open.

I see you bought a chickasaw incubator how did you like it?

Well, it is cooking for the 2nd or third year, now.. (forgot how long I’ve had it) So far it does pretty good. It’s kinda old, and beat up, but seems to work as well as I can expect in an outdoor shed. Our temps and humidity here vary a lot, so I do chase the settings a little. Not the fault of the incubator, just the climate. I have somewhere around 100 chicks and poults combined out there, and about 150 more eggs in the racks. I add them daily as I get them. Sure beats the styro-bators I’ve had. The last one got eaten by the chickens, before I realized they eat styrofoam…

Hi there, I’m interested in purchasing some red wattle feeders. Do I need to get on a list? When is your next litter due? Thanks.

Leah, I am so sorry, I apparently need to do a little work on my spam filters, they sent your message to the wrong place, and I just happened to find it… I do have a waiting list for both feeders and breeders. The Fall pigs have been gone for a while now, but we should have a few litters this next Spring / early Summer. I really hate having litters in the Winter around here, March has been especially bad for us. Most of the sows are waiting to be bred to farrow in April. If all goes well, they should wean those litters near June. I do have a ridiculous number of breeders out there for next year, and if they all do well for us, we should be swimming in piglets by late Fall…. (I think I thought the same thing last year though…) We do still have 3 hogs my son raised, they are 3/4 RW, 1/4 Hamp, and they look really nice, and are pretty much ready to finish, if you are interested in one or more of them, I’m sure he would do you right on price (he is tired of feeding them!) They are about 8-9 months old. If you have more questions, call me anytime at 361-401-0370 – Mike – or e-mail mike@ohlhausen.us Thanks, and again, sorry for the delay…
